The saturation of the UK rail network together with the growing demand for the service has prompted the development and optimisation of the country's infrastructure. Although the HS2 project was conceived more than a decade ago with a more ambitious objective, for investment reasons it has had to be adapted to the country's financial situation. Finally, the implementation of the High Speed was projected in 2 phases, the first one with a forecast completion date of 2026 and the second one in 2033.
According to information published on its official website, more than 500 bridge structures will be built, including 50 main viaducts, spanning a total distance of 15km.
There are several steel structures manufactured by Caldibe for HS2. Among them are these working platforms manufactured in the last quarter of 2023. The client requested 4 sets used as working platforms for the implementation of prefabricated pier heads on one of its main viaducts.
