The Delta Junction is a triangular section of the HS2 project, which will allow high-speed trains to travel between London and Birmingham, Birmingham and Manchester, and directly between London and Manchester. In total it will consist of 13 viaducts, each with its own unique characteristics depending on the terrain of the area. When completed, a volume of 153 piers will have been constructed between prefabricated elements and directly on site.
The pier head formwork shown in the images was used for the development of part of the piers mentioned earlier. It is worth highlighting the difficulty of the pre-assembly given the design of the formwork which, following the instructions and engineering of the client Coffrage&Quipage, was a complete success.
